Texas declares Venezuelan gang a terrorist group | News in brief

In the United States, Texas state authorities on Monday classified the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang as a foreign terrorist group.

Tren de Aragua operates in several Latin American countries. The criminal organization engages in, among other things, extortion, murder, and drug and human trafficking.

Venezuela is suffering from a political and economic crisis. Many people from the country arrive in the United States to seek asylum.

The leading border authority in Texas Mike Banks claimed at a press conference that Venezuela would have released the prisoners on the condition that they leave the country and not return.

Banks accused the president Joe Biden and Vice President Terrible Harris that their administration’s border policies are attracting such people to the United States.
