Province regrets judge’s ruling on wolf: ‘Urgent additional legislation needed’

Province regrets judges ruling on wolf Urgent additional legislation needed

Summary proceedings

The judge ruled today on the capture, transmitter and possible deterrence of a wolf on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. Faunabescherming and Animal Rights went to court to prevent this. The province wants to get started as soon as possible.

Now that the judge has ruled in favor of the animal protection organizations, the team that is supposed to catch the animal may not set off until objections to the permit have been dealt with. That could take another 2.5 to 3 months.
