Kombispel’s new CEO Jonas Nygren responds after the lottery scandal

There is quite a storm around Kombispel after the revelation came that the external telemarketing company has used aggressive sales methods and targeted the elderly when selling the Social Democrats’ party tickets. This is something DN revealed.

At a press conference on Friday, it was announced that Kombispel’s CEO was fired and that SSU members Diyar Cicek and Nicole Ilias are leaving the board.

The new CEO’s words

The new CEO, Jonas Nygren (S), now tells in his first interview how he reacted to the whole scandal.

– That there is a need to look deeper and try to see what they eat that has gone wrong so that we can avoid any mistakes happening in the future. It is also important to understand that we are in a trust industry, so for us it is important that we have a high level of trust with our customers and subscribers, he tells TV4 Nyheterna.

What do you think about them pushing older people in their sales?

– That’s not how it should happen. You shouldn’t be pressured, it shouldn’t happen that way. It is clear that you have to look further into those data. It is serious if it is true and that is why measures have been taken to ensure that no one perceives that we work that way.

That’s why he took the job

Jonas Nygren has a background within SSU, the Tenants’ Association and was chairman of the municipal board in Sundbyberg municipality 2010-2015. He took the new job because he thinks the business is important.

– I also think that popular movements need to find different ways to finance their activities. There, lotteries are a good way, he says.

“There have been no clear warning signals”

Svenska Dagbladet published a review which showed that several gang criminals were involved around the call center in Barcelona that sold the party tickets. Among other things, a person has been sentenced for involvement in the murder of twelve-year-old Adriana four years ago.

Jonas Nygren believes that Kombispel is now in a phase where they are looking at all the information that has come to light.

– We can state that this is a company that is used by quite a few, it is Telia and Tele2, so quite a few have used this company. It is not an unknown company. In my world, there have been no clear warning signals, but what has come to light means that we need to think about what checks have been made and what they should look like in the future, he says.

Has Kombispel done any checks on sales at all?

– It has definitely been done and there is a routine for it.
