Kalle Samooja was eliminated from golfs LIV tour – Jon

Finnish golfer Kalle Samooja failed at the end of the final competition of the season and ended up barely below the relegation line.

Spanish star To Jon Rahm moving to golf’s esteemed LIV tour was quite a jackpot financially. Rahm sealed the tour’s points win in the final individual race of the season in Chicago on Sunday and earned $18 million. On top of that came another four million bucks from the race win.

Rahm, a two-time major winner, switched to the Saudi-funded LIV tour last December. In his opening season, he never finished outside the top ten in the 11 races he played.

The first Finn to get a spot on the LIV tour this season Kalle Samoa had a hard time in the final moments of the final race. Two bogeys on the last three holes knocked him out of the league and the overall ranking of the season dropped to 49th, i.e. the first place to be eliminated. Along with Samooja, four other players were dropped from the league.

Samoa’s best finish during the season was 14th place in the Singapore race in May. Samoa will have to apply for a LIV place again through the qualifying system.
