Dune actress turns millions of Star Wars fans against her

The well-known UK actress Emily Watson has shone in the series Chernobyl, among others, and will next be seen in the Dune prequel Dune: Prophecy. The format of the US broadcaster HBO takes us 10,000 years into the past of the desert planet saga. To the time when the Order of the Bene Gesserit began to influence the fate of the universe.

Fans of the series created by Frank Herbert and presented by his son Brian Herbert (including the original series) know how complex it is. This also applies to Prophecy star Watson, who Comparisons with a certain Star Wars forbids.

Dune: Prophecy is not Star Wars, says the star of the sci-fi series

In an interview with Total Film, Watson described her series character Valya Harkonnen as a character with “moral complexity”. We know the nasty bald men of the clan better as villains in the latest Dune films. That does not mean that the entire clan consists only of sci-fi villains. The Harkonnens are “a somewhat fucked up family”but still “very recognizably human and complicated”.

The Dune actress also upset countless Star Wars fans when she uttered the following spicy quote:

It is a very interesting palette [an Emotionen]because it is not childish. It’s not Star Wars. It has a moral complexity that is interesting.

Luckily, no Star Wars fan has ever behaved childishly on the internet, so this statement will surely be met with a lot of humor. Right?
