American musician Tito Jackson has died at the age of 70. His sons told about it on social media.
– It is with heavy hearts that we announce that our beloved father, member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Tito Jackson, is no longer with us. We are shocked, saddened and heartbroken, guys TJ, Taj and Taryll wrote on Instagram.
Tito was the third of nine children in the Jackson family of musicians. He and his four brothers formed the popular group Jackson 5, in which the late superstar also sang before his solo career Michael Jackson.
The Jackson 5 produced several hits in the 1970s, such as ABC, I Want You Back and I’ll Be There.
Tito Jackson was heard on the records as a backing singer and guitarist.
In an interview with the news agency AP, Tito said that the death of his younger brother Michael in June 2009 brought the family members closer together.
– There are still moments when I can’t believe what happened to be true, so I will hardly ever get over it completely, Tito Jackson said at the time about his brother’s death.
Tito and his brother continued to perform until here. Jackson 5 performed this summer in Britain, among others.
