Shogun Wins Emmy for Best Drama Series – Historic Wins

The Bear and Baby Reindeer received four awards each at the morning gala.

In the United States, the Shogun series has won the Emmy award for best drama series.

Shogun also won awards in the best lead actor categories. Anna Sawai received the award for best actress and Hiroyuki Sanada won an Emmy for Best Actor.

Sawai and Sanada are the first Japanese actors to win Emmy Awards.

– Shogun taught me that we can achieve miracles when we work together. We will create a better future together, Sanada said in his award speech.

Including the Emmys awarded earlier in the week for technical merit, Shogun won 18 awards for its first season.

The TV series Hacks won the Emmy for best comedy series. Acting in the series Jean Smart was awarded for his leading role for the third time.

Other winners included The Bear and Baby Reindeer, who each picked up four awards at the night’s gala in Los Angeles.

The Bear brought To Jeremy Allen White already the second best actor award in comedy series. They also received awards for their supporting roles Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Liza Colón-Zayas.

Baby Reindeer won Best Miniseries.
