Sotkamons Jymy celebrates his gold see how the team

Jymy won the men’s super peski SM gold for the second year in a row. The championship is the team’s 21st in history.

Sotkamo’s Jymy’s nesting team returned from Pirkanmaa to the home team and on Sunday celebrated the championship gold they won in Sotkamo’s Hiuka on Saturday.

At the golden celebration, both the team and the winning trophy Poikak bathed with devotion in the cool Sapsojärvi.

About 200–300 revelers had arrived in Hiukka, ‘s reporter estimated Maria Haikola from the party venue. The atmosphere was boisterous, and many were dressed in Jymy’s fan products.

Baseball player sisters from Sotkamo Helena, Hilma and Sylvi Arffman were very happy about their favorite team’s championship.

Jymy won the men’s Finnish baseball championship for the second year in a row. The championship was decided for Jymy on Saturday in Tampere with a score of 2–0 (5–4, 1–0). The team won the championship cleanly with 3–0.

In total, this Finnish baseball championship is Jymy’s 21st in history.

“We never gave up”

Jymy’s captain Aapo Komulainen attended Sunday’s gold party with a delicate smile.

He describes the latest achievement as really great and the whole team as amazing. According to Komulainen, everyone was unbelievably united, and no one tried to put himself before the team’s advantage as an individual.

– I especially want to emphasize the spirit and character of our team. We never gave up. We were so persistent and unyielding. This feels really good and deserved, says Komulainen.

Also Jymy’s game director Iiro Haimi emphasizes the importance of the whole team. Haimi says that there were some difficult moments along the way, but Jymy managed to turn them into an advantage.

Aapo Komulainen says that on Sunday the team tries to spend as much relaxed time together with its fans as possible.

Jymy’s captain gives a lot of praise to the fans.

– Jymy means so much to so many. It’s not some small thing that is grabbed at in good times and abandoned in bad times. In every ups and downs, we are there and support you. This victory belongs to each of us from Jymy, Komulainen concludes.
