One person killed, two others injured in multi-vehicle crash near Port Dover

One person died at the scene and two others were transported to hospital after a five-vehicle crash near Port Dover late Saturday afternoon.

The collision involving three motorcyclesa pickup truck and an SUV, occurred at Blueline Road and Highway 6 Port Dover, at just before 5 pm, Ontario Provincial Police said in media release.

A 33-year-old Sudbury resident, who was a passenger on one of the motorcyclesdied at the scene, said police.

The driver of that motorcycle suffered serious injuries and was transported to a trauma center.

The driver of a second motorcycle suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Four other people who were in the vehicles were not injured.

Highway 6 remained closed between Pheasant Trail/Blue Lake Ave. and Port Ryerse Rd. on Saturday night.

Police asked that drivers avoid the area. Updates on road closure will be provided as they become available.

This is the third fatal crash in Haldimand and Norfolk over the past two days.

A 23-year-old motorcyclist from Oxford County was killed in a collision with an SUV on Thompson Road East on the outskirts of Waterford at just before 7 am on Friday.

The driver of the SUV suffered what police described as non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

A two-vehicle collision in Hagersville on Friday afternoon claimed the life of a 22-year-old Hamilton resident.

Two passenger vehicles collided at the intersection of McKenzie Road and 3rd Line, Hagersville at about 12:45 p.m., said Haldimand OPP.

The driver and a passenger of one vehicle suffered serious injuries and were transported to a trauma hospital, said police. The passenger later died in hospital.

The second driver involved suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, said police.
