Helsinki Palloseura caused the first defeat of the season to HJK, the top team of the National League, on Saturday.
HPS found football in the National League, in its upper secondary series, the power in the second half and won the only match of the evening with two goals against HJK 2–0.
At about an hour Fanni Sinivuori came from HPS to the field. Just six minutes later, the young top player scored a 1-0 goal Henni Rinkinen for the wonderful preliminary work.
Ten minutes before the end of HJK Elisa Ikonen struggled Oona Jääskeläinen inside the penalty area. The ball was taken to the penalty spot, from which Aino Kohtamäki certainly shot the ball into the visitors’ goal net.
With a valuable win, Helsingin Palloseura took second place in the series by a point ahead of KuPS, who played less in the match.
Despite the loss, HJK still has a convincing grip on the championship and an 11-point series lead. The point loss was only the second of the season for the club.
