Exceptionally heavy autumn rains have claimed lives in Romania.

According to the rescue authorities, the dead were found in the eastern counties of Galat and Vaskul. At least 95 people are under blockade in the same area.

Heavy rains have caused material damage. Trees have fallen on top of cars and roads are blocked.

Storms and rain are expected during the weekend in a wide area from Poland and Austria to Germany and Hungary.
