In Concordia, a murder clouds a sci-fi utopia
The ZDF series is about the fictional Swedish city of Concordia. It is considered a utopia that has become reality. Through comprehensive surveillance, a seemingly free and fair social model has been created that focuses on the well-being of every individual. Everyone is welcome and receives equal educational opportunities and comprehensive healthcare.
On the 20th anniversary of the city’s founding, Concordia’s successes and the upcoming adaptation of the model in Germany will be celebrated. But then The first murder in Concordia occurs after 20 years and the AI, which is considered safe, is hacked and manipulated. In a race against time, the investigative team must solve the murder and close the data leak so that the plan to establish Concordia’s model in Germany succeeds. The investigations lead to an event in the past that made the founding of Concordia possible. Now it threatens the existence of the model city.
A House of the Dragon star joins the cast of the sci-fi series
Concordia was produced by Frank Doelger, a producer of The Swarm, and directed by Barbara Eder, who also has experience with The Swarm. Nicholas Racz, Mike Walden and Isla van Tricht wrote the series.

Nanna Blondell, who played Laena Velaryon in House of the Dragon, takes on the role of Concordia employee Isabelle Larsson

Jonas Nay (We are young. We are strong.) plays the radical data protection activist Leon
The cast also includes Steven Sowah (For Jojo), Ahd Kamel (The Girl Wadjda) and Hugo Becker (Gossip Girl).

Interestingly, Frank Doelger’s new series […] similar strengths and weaknesses as The Swarm: The material is exciting and relevant, but the series still seems a little like run-of-the-mill art. The sketchy characters often seem more conceptual than real. The dialogues are also more goal-oriented than surprising and lively.
