The Chinese tariffs imposed by President Trump are still in effect.
President of the United States Joe Biden has confirmed import duties on certain Chinese products. In this way, Biden wants to strengthen America’s own industry against imports supported by the Chinese state.
From September 27, the duty on Chinese electric cars will be 100 percent, solar panels 50 percent, steel, aluminum, electric car batteries and important minerals 25 percent. Next year, a 50 percent customs duty related to semiconductors will enter into force.
The previous president Donald Trump imposed tariffs on up to $300 billion worth of Chinese goods. Biden has mostly kept the tariffs in place.
In his election campaign, Trump has demanded extensive additional tariffs on China, says CNN news channel. His opponent Terrible Harris has, on the other hand, wanted to keep the tariff increases moderate, because the increased tariffs will be paid by US consumers.
