A two-story villa in northern Örebro started to burn heavily on Friday evening.
– It will burn to the ground, but there are no known injuries. Nobody seems to have been home, says Jens auf der Heide, officer on duty at the police.
The alarm came in to the rescue service at 10:10 p.m. and at most six fire engines were on the scene.
The police have started a preliminary investigation into public negligence.

A man died at 22.30 on Friday evening in a traffic accident on national highway 40 in Bottnaryd in Jönköping municipality.
– Several cars have run over the man who had ended up on the road. Our theory is that he drove a four-wheeler but went off it and landed on the road, says Lars-Göran Nilseryd, officer on duty at the police.

An SAS plane on its way to Arlanda has been forced to land in Copenhagen.
Several police officers came on board and took a man and a woman out.
– It was a threatening situation, says a witness.
SAS states that the passengers behaved “unruly”.
– They have behaved unacceptable on board, but I don’t have much more information. They have decided to go down when it suits, in this case Copenhagen, where they were met by the police, says press spokesperson Rikard Steinholtz.
The plane is expected to take off towards Stockholm shortly, SAS stated at 11.30pm.

The Swedish Agricultural Agency alerted on Friday that a case of bluetongue had been detected on a farm in Uddevalla.

The spread concerns a variant called BTV-3 and recently it was found to have spread to our neighboring countries Norway and Denmark.
Bluetongue affects ruminants such as cattle, sheep and goats, states the Swedish Agency for Agriculture.

One person has been injured in connection with a climbing accident in Nyköping.

A person working for the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, has been killed in the West Bank.

The interest in competing in the Melodifestivalen continues. 2,794 contributions had been uploaded to SVT when the application period expired at 11:59 a.m. on Friday. Now a secret selection jury will select 15 entries and SVT will select the same number for next year’s competition.
Which artists are allowed to participate in the competition will be revealed in the autumn. SVT has not yet revealed the dates, host cities or presenters for Melodifestivalen 2025.
For the past ten years, interest in Melodifestivalen has been at about the same level, with between 2,000 and 3,000 entries submitted to the competition each year.
New for next year is that the contributions will be released in their entirety already the day before the sub-competition in which they participate.
