Strömberg on site

One of the guests was the football legend Glenn Stromberg and now he opens up about the great sadness.
– It was wonderful and peaceful. I have now landed in this for a while and met Svennis several times in recent months. It was a nice, calm and peaceful end he got today, he tells Radiosporten and is moved to tears.
– Sven-Göran would have liked this. It is quiet and peaceful, absolutely perfect. It wasn’t not this big pimp.

Strömberg had “Svennis” as a coach in both IFK Göteborg and Benfica. He has so much to thank his late friend for.
– I’ve said it before and can say it again, outside of my family in Sweden and Italy, Sven-Göran is the person who meant the most to me and did the most for me. He’s signed a lot of my life, everywhere I’ve been. The last thing he taught me was about all the tough things that happen at the end of something, all the suffering, Glenn says with tears in his throat to the radio station.
– But he took us all the easy way, the fun way and highlighted all the positive things that have been. He got to experience everything in the last months and was celebrated by everyone, few get to experience that. So these last months which you thought would be so incredibly hard turned out to be something completely different and he was the one who created it for all of us.

That’s why it was so incredibly emotional for Glenn during Friday’s funeral.
– For me, this funeral was a family thing. He meant an awful lot to me. I want to thank him for everything he has dared to do for me, it has been very brave decisions he has made for me. It’s something you really take in, he says in the interview.
– Then we haven’t been the ones who call each other all the time and talk, but when something has come up, we’ve always been there for each other. I have ended up in different places in the world thanks to him.

Rest in peace, Sven-Göran! 🌹
