On weekdays, he plays Division III hockey with Luleålaget Hertsörinken IF, where he scored 17 points in ten games last season.
Today he is a national team player.
The 23-year-old’s mother is from Brazil and Victor has dual citizenship. He speaks Portuguese and after being in contact with the association, it wasn’t long before he made his national team debut.
– The coach invited me to a tournament in Florida and I gained a lot of trust. I think they appreciated me as a player, says Victor Stridsman.
An ice rink in the whole country
Brazil is a very small nation in hockey terms. There is only one ice rink in the whole country and the national team was formed as recently as 2014.
But Victor sees a potential.
– Inline hockey is very big and players come from there. Now they work to push hockey forward, he says and continues:
– For me, it would have been a dream to one day play in Brazil full-time.
