Coached Arsenal to second place in the English Premier League in the last two seasons Mikel Arteta has signed an extension contract with the club, Arsenal said on Thursday. The 42-year-old Spaniard, who became the head coach of the Gunners at the end of 2019, will continue with the club until the summer of 2027 with the extension contract.
– I’m very proud and very excited, and I’m really looking forward to what’s to come. I want to achieve much more than what we have already done together, Arteta said.
Before his Arsenal match Pep Guardiola Arteta, who helped coach Manchester City, won the English FA Cup in his first season at Arsenal. In the Premier League, he has lifted Arsenal into the title race, but Manchester City has been an insurmountable obstacle, at least so far.
Arsenal have won two league games and drawn one so far this season and are fourth in the league ahead of this weekend’s clash against arch-rivals Tottenham.
