The Tampere clubs’ evening speech in the hockey CHL was twofold.

Finnish ice hockey player representing the Swiss club Lausanne Antti Suomela punished SM league club Ilves in Thursday’s CHL match. Suomela scored three goals in the Ilves net, as Lausanne celebrated a 7-2 home win.
Ahti Oksanen scored the first and last of Suomela’s goals.
Tappara also played CHL on Thursday. The team won their home match played in Hakametsä instead of the Tampere arena by a crushing score of 6–1. Tappara’s opponent was the French club Rouen Dragons.
Tappara is currently locked in the playoff spot after three matches played. Tappara is ranked 11th in the CHL regular season with five points.
Ilves has collected two points in three matches and is in 19th place. The 16 best teams qualify for the playoffs. Each team plays six matches in the preliminary series.
Lausanne, who beat Ilves, is seventh with seven points.
The third Finnish club in the CHL is Pelicans, who will face Swedish Skellefteå on Friday. The people of Lahti are in 18th place with two points.
