One of the biggest series of the 2000s is back and jumping even further back in time. After Michael C. Hall was able to prove his skills as a TV serial killer in Dexter and Dexter: New Blood, we can soon expect the start of a prequel series that kidnapped into the 90s.

Hall returns only as a voiceIn the picture, 29-year-old Patrick Gibson takes on the iconic role of the blossoming killer. He has previously acted in series such as Shadow and Bone, Before We Die and The OA.

The plot of Dexter: Original Sin begins 15 years before the events of the main series. Specifically, we find ourselves in Miami of 1991 again. Young Dexter Morgan leads an unremarkable student life and discovers a, well, problematic obsession that gradually costs more and more people their lives.
Dexter Morgan is not the only familiar figure from the original, who returns in the prequel series. We also get to know the young version of Dexter’s adopted sister Debra. She is played by Molly Brown (Billions). Christian Slater (Mr. Robot) is also part of the cast of the spin-off as Dexter’s father Harry.
When does the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin start?
The teaser trailer for Dexter: Original Sin features the first moving images from the series as well as the revelation of the release date. December 13, 2024 The first season will premiere in the USA on Paramount+. It is not yet known whether the German launch will take place at the same time.
A total of ten new episodes await us. In addition, another new Dexter series with Michael C. Hall is in the works, called Dexter: Resurrection.
