These 13 roles have shaped the series

Happy Birthday, Berlin – Day & Night! BTN can already look back on 13 years of series history. In September 2011, the first episode of the popular early evening series flickered across German television screens. Who could have guessed that it would become such a huge success? We look back on 13 years and show you the roles that have contributed to the series’ lasting success.

Berlin – Day & Night: These roles shaped the series

Joe Möller (Lutz Schweigel)

Joe Möller is considered the BTN veteran par excellence. Since episode one, the role has been played by Lutz Schweigel and is a rock in the surf for everyone in the Berlin – Day & Night universe. It is not for nothing that everyone calls him “Papa Joe”. Joe has an open ear for everyone, always keeps an overview and puts his needs last. But the rocker has also had many strokes of fate behind him that have shaped him and his attitude.

Basti was part of the BTN family for almost 13 years. The positive teacher was known above all for his lively and awkward manner. He often drove his friends crazy with bizarre actions. His changing love life was also always a source of gossip. Most recently, Basti pursued his dream job as a teacher and was even promoted to headmaster of his school. Unfortunately, Basti became ill and had to be treated for his paranoia. Most recently, he even left Berlin to get back on his feet with his parents on La Gomera.

Milla Brandt (Liza Waschke)

There is hardly a role that has had to go through more than Milla. With her direct and unfiltered manner, she doesn’t get on well with everyone. But she does everything for her family. Since she has had her daughter Amelie by her side, she has blossomed in her new role as a mother and has undergone a complete transformation. From being Basti’s stalker, she became a GoGo in the Matrix, which she eventually took over herself. She has now also found happiness in love and is married to Mike Riedel (Filip Nikolic).

Karsten “Scabies” Retze (Marcel Neue)

Scabies is an indispensable part of the series. With his chaotic nature, he lives for the day and only thinks about the consequences later. But Scabies has a loyal side and is always there for his friends and family. He has had to endure many blows of fate, but has always been supported by his houseboat family.

Florian “Schmidti” Schmidt (Alexander Freund)

What would Krätze be without Schmidti? The two of them really only exist as a pair. Schmidti comes from a wealthy family, but above all he wants to stand on his own two feet financially and has little contact with his parents. That’s why he’s always trying out new jobs. Whether as a taxi driver or with a food truck together with Krätze. Schmidti likes to have fun but is also aware of his responsibilities. Schmidti has found his calling and is the owner of the popular pub KräSch.

Kim really shook up Berlin and didn’t let anything get in the way. Not least when she accused Mike of rape because he didn’t love her back. In the end, the two became a couple anyway, but she cheated on him with his son Connor. This was followed by a pregnancy and an abortion. After that, Kim had enough and started a new life in Mallorca with her famous father Marc Terenzi.

Ole Peters (Falko Ochsenknecht)

Ole’s biggest dream was always to get a foothold in Mallorca as Ole without any money, and he was willing to put up with anything to achieve this. With his over-motivated and loud manner, he often got on his friends’ and roommates’ nerves. Nevertheless, he was there when someone needed him.

Only this year, Falko Ochsenknecht died at the age of just 39.

Fabrizio (Alfio De Beneditctis)

Paula experienced highs and lows in Berlin. Always by her side: her friends Rick and Peggy. After two failed weddings with Basti and Joe, she was initially denied happiness in love in the capital. When Paula suddenly becomes the foster mother of Noah, Sina and Marie, her life changes abruptly. To give Marie a better life, she moves with her to Brandenburg and leaves Berlin.

Richard “Rick” Meining (Manuel Denninger)

Rick mainly entertains his friends with his love life. When the nail designer moved to Freiburg for a short time for love, many of them lost their world. The relationship broke up and Rick moved back to Berlin. Here he is now the successful owner of Schnitte and lives his life with his partner Nuri.

Peggy Möller (Katrin Hamann)

Peggy has been in the capital series since episode 4. The hairdresser has suffered a number of blows of fate. She lost her unborn baby in a fire and suffered severe burns in the accident, so she turned her back on Berlin. She has been back for a few years now and has finally been reunited with Joe. But the couple’s happiness was overshadowed by Theo (Ranndy Frahm), who wanted to get at the couple again. In a big showdown, Peggy shot Theo in self-defense.

Piet Berger (Frank Winter)

Piet was Fabrizio’s opponent for a long time because they were both interested in the same woman. Piet also clashes with other men because his affairs with women speak for themselves. Piet always has a joke on his lips and doesn’t let anyone tell him what to do. Piet is always looking out for his own advantage and always makes money through dubious deals. But when push comes to shove, even Piet Berger can show his heart and help out in an emergency.
