Lines
– An electric bicycle may have pedal assistance up to a speed of 25 kilometers per hour.
– If the bicycle goes faster, and is therefore tuned up, it is no longer an electric bicycle but a moped with the rules that apply to this, such as a helmet requirement, insurance plate and riding on the roadway.
– A fat bike that does not require pedaling is prohibited.
– A fatbike may only be equipped with a throttle that provides walking support up to 6 kilometers per hour. This is the walking distance, for example to walk up from a bike shed.
– A fat bike that does not require pedaling is therefore prohibited.
Fines
– Fine upon first detection of throttle or higher speed than 25 kilometers per hour. The amount of the fine is determined by the public prosecutor.
– If it turns out that one of these violations has occurred again the driver will receive another fine. The public prosecutor will then also determine the amount of the fine. The fatbike will be confiscated and destroyed.
