US inflation continued to slow down in August | News in brief

In the United States, inflation, i.e. the rise in consumer prices, was 2.5 percent in August compared to a year ago. US inflation is now at its lowest level since February 2021.

Inflation decreased from July, when it was 2.9 percent. In June, US inflation was exactly 3 percent, so annual inflation has come down by 0.5 percentage points in the two months since then.
