Brigitte Macron made an appearance in an episode of the series Emily in Paris.
This September 12, the second part of season 4 ofEmily in Parisa series that tells the daily life of an American woman living in the idealized French capital, will finally be available. In this second part, the young woman goes to Rome for a new professional and personal adventure. This end of season has many surprises in store, including the appearance of the First Lady. The latter had, in fact, been spotted on the filming location last April, at Place de la Madeleine.
In the first season already, her character, played by a stunt double, appeared from behind at the Elysée sharing a post by Emily Cooper, allowing the young woman to explode her number of subscribers. A reference to her love story with Emmanuel Macron had also been heard from the beginning of the series, in a line from the character played by Kate Walsh, Emily’s boss: “The French like older women. Look at their president, he’s young and sexy and he married his teacher”, recalling the 24-year age gap between the head of state and his wife.
Brigitte Macronthis time, is more explicitly mentioned. “She’s a big fan of the show and she took the mention of her character in season 1 with a lot of humor,” Lilly Collins told She. For season 4, it will be a real participation of Brigitte Macron alongside Lily Collins. “This scene from season 4 is a nod, and filming with her was both an honor and a real pleasure,” added the actress. The two women had already met at the Elysée in 2022, while filming for season 3 was underway.
A successful appearance
According to TV magazinethis scene would occur in the seventh episode and would be very short. The sequence features a lunch between Lily Collins and the new recruit of the Grateau agency, Geneviève. During this meal at La Maison de la Truffe, Emily tries to integrate her new colleague. It is at this moment that they realize that the First Lady is seated at a neighboring table and Emily then asks her for a selfie together. They exchange a few words and take a photo of each other. Netflix assured AFP that no dress code had been given to Brigitte Macron.
It should not be forgotten that Brigitte Macron was a drama teacher. The creator of the series Darren Star has also praised the “talent” of the First Lady and sees in her participation “a recognition of the impact of the series on the attractiveness of France”. The First Lady had already appeared in another series. In 2018, she was seen in Locker rooms, playing himself in this series dedicated to disability and inclusion.
