For the third day in a row, drones have taken care of Arlanda Airport.
– We can confirm that during the evening we have observed a drone at Arlanda, we have observed a change in the traffic pattern and we are adjusting the traffic accordingly, says Eric Casselberg, civil servant on standby at the Civil Aviation Authority.
The police are also on the scene to find out what happened.
– Someone has seen something and it is unclear what it is, we are trying to find out, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the police.
It is a person who has made the observation.
– We will talk to the person concerned and hopefully there will be some form of documentation, says Daniel Wikdahl.
Does not affect air traffic
Both the police and the Civil Aviation Authority state that the incident does not affect air traffic at the moment, but that this may change.
– We have no canceled departures, but adjust the traffic according to the development, says Eric Casselberg, civil servant on standby at the Civil Aviation Authority.
At the moment, it is unclear whether it is one or more drones.
– We have no information about whether there is any connection with the previous drone alarms, or whether it is one or more drones, says Eric Casselberg.
Third day in a row
It is the third day in a row that drones have been observed at Arlanda. On the night of Monday, several drones were observed from the air traffic control tower and five flights had to be diverted to Skavsta and Landvetter.
The police started a preliminary investigation into airport sabotage and violations of the Security Act, and the Swedish Armed Forces were also involved.
During the Monday evening, the next alarm came. Security guards raised the alarm about seeing a drone over a runway. The incident disrupted traffic for a short time, when some starts had to be stopped.
The police could not confirm that it was a drone, even if the initial assessment pointed to it.
