What kind of console is this? The PS5 Pro is the direct successor to the Playstation 5 and thus the latest console from Sony. Visually, it is based on the digital-only version of the PS5 – it will also not have a disc drive.

    What are the important features of the PS5 Pro? The new console will be launched with some improvements over the old version. Sony has announced these so far:

  • This should provide better details in certain games and a better frame rate.

    Where can I pre-order the PS5 Pro? The PS5 Pro can be pre-ordered from September 26, 2024.

    How does the PS5 Pro differ from its predecessor? In addition to the new features such as the improved hardware, there are visual differences. Like the digital-only PS5, the console no longer has a drive. The design of the PS5 remains the same, but with ventilation grilles on the sides.

    According to the PlayStation blog, the console will have the same dimensions as the original PS5.

    Will there be a PS5 Pro with an optical drive? The PS5 Pro is sold as a console without a drive, but you can buy a drive later. It works the same way as with the PS5 Slim without a drive. The price for the drive on the PS5 Slim is 119.99 euros.

    Can the side panels be replaced? Yes, the side panels can be replaced. It is currently unclear whether the PS5 side panels will fit.

    How many FPS will the PS5 Pro achieve? According to Sony, the PS5 Pro should be able to reach 60 FPS.

    Can you use the regular PS5 controller on the Pro? The PS5 Pro officially ships with a DualSense controller and existing DualSense controllers can be connected.

    Is the PS5 Pro compatible with PS5 accessories? Yes, the PS5 Pro is compatible with accessories for the regular PS5. Specifically, Sony lists the following:
