– It has a bit to do with the current training trend, there is a great interest in protein-rich and low-fat foods. We manufacture more than ever, but despite this have not been able to meet customer demand, he tells the channel.
It is the food quark that is in short supply.

News24 has previously reported on a dairy product that received an overwhelming response from customers. At the end of August, it was instead the closely related dairy product cottage cheese that customers wanted to eat.
Arla’s production facility in Falkenberg, which makes the majority of the company’s cottage cheese, did not have time to produce enough to meet the rapidly rising demand.
– We produce around the clock, every day of the week, but still find it difficult to keep up. That in and of itself is a pleasant problem, Wallenberg said then Food in Focus.

Now it is curd instead that attracts customers.
– There is a bit of quagga fever at the moment, Wallenberg adds P4 Skaraborg.
According to him, quark is not only popular in Sweden, but throughout Europe. He also does not know when customers can expect well-stocked shelves with quark again, but hopes that Arla will be able to meet customer demand by autumn.

The same problem also exists in the north.
In Dalarna, it has been noticed that the quark runs out on the same day that the stores receive a new delivery.
– It’s barely enough for a day, it disappears immediately, says the manager of fresh produce at a grocery store in Falun, Behez Ibrahimto P4 The valleys.
Like Max Wallenberg, the store staff in Falun believe that the demand is due to the fact that there are many people who exercise and want to get a lot of protein.
