(Finance) – Presented today, at platform 1 of the station Rome Tiburtinathe train Nightjet latest generation that connects Rome with Vienna And Munich. The connection is made possible thanks to the cooperation between Trenitalia (FS Group) and the Austrian railway company ÖBB. The presentation event was attended by the Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Matthew Salvini; the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri; the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the FS Group, Stephen Donnarumma; the CEO and General Manager of Trenitalia, Louis Corradi; Member of the Board of Directors of ÖBB-Personenverkehr AG, Sabine Stock; and the Austrian Ambassador to Italy, Martin Eichtinger.

With the new Nightjet train, the connection Euronight departs daily from Rome Tiburtina at 17:25 with stops in Florence Santa Maria Novella, Bologna Centrale, Villach, Klagenfurt, Leoben, Bruck an der Mur and arrives in Vienna at 9:04 the next day. In Villach, part of the train continues to Munich, arriving at its destination at 9:22 in the morning.

In direction oppositethe Nightjet departs from Munich at 20:10 and from Vienna at 19:18. It rejoins Villach at 1:03 and then continues towards Rome with stops at Bologna Centrale and Florence Santa Maria Novella. Arrival at Tiburtina is at 11:05.

The latest generation Nightjet is made up of two Sectionsone to and from Vienna and the other to and from Munich, each with seven carriages. It has a total capacity of 500 seats.

On board, passengers have at their disposal some services including a minibar, free Wi-Fi with access to the ÖBB Railnet Night on-board portal and a modern information system. The carriages are equipped with displays with various functions, such as light control or calls to the train staff, as well as video surveillance and electronic access systems to ensure even greater safety on board.

With the new links Nightjet direct from Rome to Vienna and Munich consolidates Trenitalia’s offer to Austria and Germany, which is completed with the Eurocity connections Italy-Switzerland, carried out in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Railways and the Milan – Zurich – Frankfurt connection carried out in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Railways and Deutsche Bahn. This further strengthens the presence in Europe of the FS Group which, with Trenitalia, operates in France with Trenitalia France, in Great Britain with Trenitalia UK, in Germany with Netinera, in Greece with Hellenic Train and in Spain with iryo. Furthermore, it is present in the Netherlands with Qbuzz, the Dutch company for local public transport services.
