Selma, 24, went to a hair salon in central Sweden at the end of August to get a new haircut.
She brought a picture to the hairdresser of the hairstyle she wanted, which would not be a problem to arrange according to the hairdresser.
Selma wanted to freshen up the ends, but still keep the length in her hair. She also wanted “caramel balayage brown” curls. The total cost for cutting and loops was SEK 1,700.
The hairdresser burned Selma’s hair
But when the hairdresser started working, something happened and Selma’s hair was burnt, according to the ARN report which News24 took part in.
The burnt hair had to be cut off, and the hairstyle was much shorter than agreed. The loops also did not turn brown as Semla wanted, but grey.
“I have never been so sad and disappointed, I had really saved my hair for a long time and now everything is ruined, I can’t look in the mirror because I feel so bad about it,” Selma wrote in her report.

Asked for a full refund
Selma asked the hairdresser for a full refund, which the hairdresser did not agree to.
The hairdresser could imagine paying back a maximum of SEK 1,000, which Selma declined as she wanted the full amount back.
“I’m a 24-year-old young girl but I feel like a 50-year-old. She cut all my long and fine hair, the color she dyed is not even close to what I wanted. I cry all the time because I feel so bad mentally about this and I don’t know what to do,” writes Selma in her report.

Demands compensation of SEK 5,500 for hair extensions
In addition to a refund of the 1,700 kroner that it cost to make the new hairstyle, Selma demands compensation for hair extensions of 5,500 kroner, as the hair was much shorter than promised.
“I was clear that I only want to cut the ends, then she said “okay”, but she cut more than half of my hair. Now I have short hair,” writes Selma in her report.
What ARN’s decision will be is not yet clear.

When Nyheter24 gets in touch with Selma, she is still very disappointed with the result.
– I will never in my life be able to go to that hairdresser again. She has burned my hair, it is completely ruined. I was clear with her from the very beginning that I didn’t want short hair, Selma tells Nyheter24 and continues:
– I wanted that particular color from the picture. She said yes, you will get the result you want. But she ruined all my hair instead, says Selma to Nyheter24.
Nyheter24 has searched the hair salon without success.
