Netflix hit A New Summer receives very mixed reviews
A new summer revolves around a wealthy family who want to host a wedding on the US island of Nantucket. When during the celebrations the Body of a participant is washed up, the police take a close look at the luxury clan and its peculiarities.

In addition to Kidman, Liev Schreiber (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), Jack Reynor (Midsommar) and Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds) can be seen in front of the camera. However, the star line-up is not enough for some critics: According to FlixPatrol, a new summer is ranked first among Netflix series in 78 countries landed, but divides the professional audience.
“One of the best miniseries of 2024“, enthuses the Chicago Sun-Times. “Netflix porridge according to scheme F“ is the verdict of the Independent. While Variety praises the entertainment factor of the series, the Hollywood Reporter criticizes the drawn-out dramaturgy.
It is up to the viewers to decide who is right. The star cast will have found many fans, and there is also a name behind the camera that is well known to Netflix fans: Susanne Bier directed all six episodes of the series and previously served as director for Bird Box.
