Space Marine 2 will be released for everyone on PC, Xbox and PS5 on September 9, 2024. The developers have already published a roadmap in advance that shows what content will be coming after the release.

When will Space Marine 2 be released?

This is what Space Marine 2 contains: In Space Marine 2 you play the Ultramarine Titus, who some of you probably already know from the first part. As a (former) member of the Deathwatch, you must clear yourself of the taint and Space Marines only know one method for this: slaughter.

Space Marine 2 focuses on graphically appealing environments and, above all, violence with fairly detailed killings and executions, similar to Doom. The gameplay is similar to horde shooters and you have to fight against huge masses of bug aliens. The game also offers:

  • a solo campaign and co-op with up to two other players
  • Crossplay between all platforms
  • about 8 to 12 hours of story missions
  • repeatable missions with different levels of difficulty
  • different classes and weapons that you can level and skill
  • an optional PvP mode

    • Although the story and lore of Warhammer are not relevant to the gameplay, fans of the universe will find plenty of references that are sure to provide a nerd moment or two. For everyone else, here is the best short summary of the lore behind Space Marine 2.

    Roadmap for Space Marine 2 explains what to expect in 2024 and 2025

    The team behind Space Marine 2 has released a roadmap with the planned post-release content (via Steam) just in time for the launch. The game will have seasons including season passes, with Season 1 already starting with releases and Season 2 scheduled to arrive between October and the end of 2024.

    The season passes contain cosmetic rewards as well as “Champion Packs” – skins grouped by theme. Season 2, for example, offers skins for the “Dark Angels” chapter of the Space Marines. However, all changes relevant to gameplay will be released as a free patch for everyone. The following are still planned for 2024:

  • new PvE missions
  • the difficulty level “deadly”
  • a new enemy type and the Neo-Volkite pistol as a new weapon

    • There are no concrete details for 2025 yet, but the developers have already promised a range of content:

  • additional missions for the PvE mode and a Horde mode
  • a new PvP mode and arenas
  • Prestige ranks for PvE
  • new enemy types and weapons
  • an extension of the battle barge

    • There are no exact dates yet as to when any of these will be released. The developers reserve the right to change the schedule.
