  • Swedavia became aware of the alarm at 10:30 p.m., but currently has no detailed information about what happened.

Carl Mossberg urges travelers to keep an eye on Swedavia’s website for updated information on departures and arrivals.

The police confirm during the evening that the alarm was about a drone over one of the runways.

    – Then police resources are called to the scene. We are still there, says Anna Westberg, press spokesperson at Police Region Stockholm, shortly before midnight.

The police have opened a preliminary investigation into violations of the Aviation Act and violations of the Security Act.

    Permission required

If an unidentified drone comes close to an airport, air traffic is always stopped as a safety measure, according to Swedavia. Special permission is required to fly drones near an airport, and any unauthorized flight may be a violation of the Aviation Act.

After the alarm on Monday night, the police have started a preliminary investigation into airport sabotage and violations of the Protection Act.
