Expert plays Diablo 4 without hands on the keyboard, defeats bosses simply AFK – This is how the OP build works

Blizzard is currently testing the new features of Season 6 and Vessel of Hatred on the Diablo 4 PTR. Several experts are out there looking for things that need to be improved. One of them has apparently found something that definitely needs to be worked on.

What kind of build is this?

  • The “AFK Barbarian” works exactly as it sounds: you stand around and kill enemies without even pressing a button.
  • The build is made possible by the new rune words from Season 6, which can expand and change skills.
  • Expert Rob shows how the build works and uses it to take out both the tormented Lord Zir on Torment 4 and Lilith, who is too hard even for other OP builds – and all in seconds.

    This is how the AFK Barb works: Basically, the damage of the AFK Barb comes from the dust devils, which have been a strong part of the Barbarian builds for some time. Instead of generating them through Whirlwind and the like, in this build they come from a rune word and a new legendary Paragon node:

  • The legendary Paragon node “Force of Nature” causes earthquakes to create a dust devil with a 75% chance.
  • The rune word LithTec causes an earthquake to occur at your feet if you stand still for one second.
  • The rage control aspect causes you to become a berserker if you have more than 55 rage.

    • There are also some effects such as the chance to cast earthquakes twice and mythical items that cause more damage – such as the grandfather. The most important thing for the build is to do as much damage as possible to the dust devils.

    In his video, Rob shows how he uses AFK Barb to take out Lilith, Lord Zir, and the Pit at level 100 without even touching the keyboard. He says that using his skills makes it even faster, and shows how the beast in the ice dies in less than half a second.

    Blizzard processes feedback, an OP strategy is already gone

    It is not yet clear whether the build will make it into the final release of Season 6 and Vessel of Hatred. Blizzard has already implemented a lot of feedback from players during tests and completely overhauled some features.

    It is already known that a completely broken leveling method will be fixed. The pro Raxxanterax managed to reach the maximum level within 20 minutes using only bases. This is no longer possible in Vessel of Hatred.

    The new season and expansion bring a ton of changes that address a lot of criticism from the past. For example, the difficulty levels are being adjusted, even if experts aren’t yet convinced by this.
