In May there was really good news for all fans of Rob Lowe and his fire department series 9-1-1: Lone Star. It was renewed for season 5. Now, however, it is also clear that season 5 will be the last.
Cancellation of 9-1-1: Lone Star with Rob Lowe confirmed – but there is a conclusion
For five years we saw the charismatic Rob Lowe as Firefighter Captain Owen Strand as he rebuilds and manages Fire Station 126 in Los Angeles. Rob Lowe had his breakthrough and a large fan base in the 80s, when he became known for his role in Francis Ford Coppola’s The Outsiders.
The 4th season of 9-1-1: Lone Star started over a year and a half ago on January 24, 2023 in the USA. The finale aired in the USA on May 16, 2023 and then it was uncertain for a whole year whether it would continue after the double strike in Hollywood. Several stars of the series already hinted at the coming end on social networks, as our sister site Espinof reported.
Now it is certain: After the 12 episodes of season 5 9-1-1: Lone Star is over. Even though the disappointment is great, fans can look forward to a proper conclusion to the series. In view of many abrupt cancellations that deprive their series of proper farewells, this is perhaps a small consolation.
Lead actress unfortunately leaves before the 5th season
Fans also have to deal with another shock: Sierra McClain is leaving 9-1-1: Lone Star. There is a fifth season, but her Main character Grace Ryder will not appear in the series. How the series will deal with the departure of the emergency call center employee and wife of another main character is still uncertain. But US fans will soon find out.
On Season 5 starts on September 23rd in the USA, There is no German release date yet. In all likelihood, Disney+ has the German premiere rights, as was the case with season 4. ProSieben will probably be the premiere broadcaster on free TV in this country.
