iPhone 16: AI, Apple Intelligence, ChatGPT and other big changes already planned

iPhone 16 AI Apple Intelligence ChatGPT and other big changes

Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone 16 this evening. The latter is said to be packed with new AI-based software features to rethink the daily use of our phones.

Only a few hours left before the official announcement of theiPhone 16. Apple will hold its annual September conference this Monday 9th starting at 7pm (Paris time). The firm is particularly anticipated this year with the announcement of its new iPhone 16 which should allow Apple to catch up in terms of artificial intelligence.

Still planned in four different models, the iPhone 16 would more or less resemble the old models for its design. Several leaks of information and images have been available for a few weeks, notably from manufacturers of cases and accessories. These leaks allow us to observe a first glimpse of the new iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max which will be announced in the evening.

An iPhone 16 packed with AI

If the design of the iPhone 16 will not mark a major evolution compared to previous years, it is because its main new features will be found inside the smartphone. First of all, this generation will be able to count on new chips for more power and better battery life. The Pro and Pro Max models will no longer offer 128 GB of storage, considered too little for their daily use. It will now be necessary to switch to 256 GB of storage in the least expensive version. It is also rumored that the 12 Mpx photo sensor will be upgraded to 48 Mpx for more details, but also a better focal aperture in order to capture more light in your shots.

But above all, the iPhone 16 would be focused around artificial intelligence. Apple is lagging behind in this segment compared to competitors like Google or Samsung. The Cupertino firm unveiled, a few months earlier, its own AI solution called “Apple Intelligence” and which allows many features including four already highly anticipated:

  • ChatGPT integration into theiPhone.
  • Creating images from text.
  • Summarizing articles, translating and rewriting texts.
  • A much smarter and more responsive Siri.

However, we will have to wait to see if all of these AI features will be available at the launch of the iPhone 16. The latest European regulations could force Apple to delay the release of some of these new features.

Further announcements expected

In addition to the iPhone 16, Apple should take advantage of its keynote to make other hardware announcements. It is rumored that new AirPods will be unveiled during the evening, including two variants of AirPods 4, but also a new AirPods Max headset.

If Apple sticks to its habits, the firm should also announce several new connected watches Apple Watch Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 3. The latter would notably benefit from better battery life, a new chip, and a screen with thinner edges.

The Apple keynote will take place this Monday, September 9th starting at 7:00 PM (Paris time). We will be sure to cover it live and recap all the announcements of the evening.
