The protests are based on Kosovo’s decision to close Serbia-funded services in northern Kosovo.
Kosovo has opened two of its closed border crossings with Serbia after the protests on the Serbian side have stopped.
Kosovo closed the Brnjak and Merdare border crossings yesterday, as activists on the Serbian side blocked traffic between the two countries. There are a total of four border crossing points at the border between the two countries.
Minister of the Interior Xhelal Sveclan traffic is currently flowing normally.
The most recent standoff at the border began on Friday, when dozens of Serbian activists blocked the road and prevented cars from entering Serbia from Kosovo.
Activists countered that Kosovo authorities closed just over a week ago, parallel municipal service offices maintained by the Serbian administration in Kosovo. Serbia continues to finance various services in Serb-majority northern Kosovo.

There is a lot of tension between the countries and Serbia has not recognized the independence of Kosovo. Kosovo became independent from Serbia in 2008.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo Donika Gervalla said on Friday that the Serbian regime was directing the border protest and thereby seeking to destabilize Kosovo.
Hostilities between the Albanian majority in Kosovo and the Serb minority have continued since the Kosovo war in the late 1990s.
