Football: Kristoffer Olsson approaches individual training – says: “Can go in and play ten minutes”

It was in February that the news that national team player Kristoffer Olsson suddenly collapsed in his home came. Later it could be established that he suffered from blood clots in the brain.

He has since gradually regained his motor skills and ability to speak, and in August he was able to move home.

  • Isak Hien: “I had been driven”

  • – I feel well and am happy to be back in my house. It’s been great to get some routine back and feel a little more normal again. There are many things I look forward to with great joy and energy, he says in a statement on FC Midtjylland’s website.

    I believe in a comeback

Olsson explains that he feels he has come a long way.

    – It has been a hard fight that I won. It has been difficult, he says.

FC Midtjylland writes that in a few weeks he will begin individual training within the association. The ambition is to join the club permanently in “a few months”.

    – I was at a match recently and someone asked me if I think I will play football again. “Yes,” I said. “I can go in and play ten minutes right now,” he says in a documentary on Danish TV2.

Looking at himself in the mirror again

In the TV2 documentary, he also says that it took two weeks before he regained consciousness. Now it’s different.

    – When I have looked at myself in the mirror for the past two months, I have looked away. I didn’t want to see myself in the mirror. Because it wasn’t that good. But now I see myself. Then I get happy and laugh to myself. It’s okay now, he tells the channel.

He believes that a comeback is not just a dream.

    – That is how it will be.

    The joy after the tributes

A few days after the news about his health came out, in connection with the meeting with FC Copenhagen, he was praised. The match was suspended in the eighth minute and applause erupted.

    – It cannot be emphasized enough how much it has meant to me. I have received support from everyone in Midtjylland, the thousands of fans, clubs and acquaintances who have written to me, he says to the club’s website.

Kristoffer Olsson has played 124 games for FC Midtjylland. Previously, he has played for teams such as Anderlecht, Arsenal and AIK.

In addition, Olsson has 47 caps for Sweden.
