At least seven to hospital after the Helsingborg marathon

It was a sweaty and hard afternoon in Skåne.
Several people have had to be taken to hospital in connection with the Helsingborg marathon.
– Many runners collapse along the way and some have needed help to get to hospital. So far, seven have been introduced, says nurse Elna Billsten-Carlius
SVT.

The extent of the injuries is unclear, but no one is expected to be life-threateningly injured.

The temperature was measured at a little over 27 degrees at the finish line and extra medical personnel had been brought in because of the heat.

– Much tougher than I thought, I had to slow down considerably after half the race, says Linda Gistedt, winner of the women’s class, to the TV channel.
