In Germany, major disruptions in rail traffic in the Frankfurt area | News in brief

Deutsche Bahn’s communication failure causes considerable delays in train traffic in the Rhine-Main region.

In Germany, there are massive disruptions to rail transport in the densely populated Rhine-Main region in the state of Hesse.

The reason is the IT system problems of the German state railway company Deutsche Bahn (DB).

The problems affect regional trains as well as S-Bahn train traffic in the cities of the region. According to DB, all trains have to stop at the nearest station until the problem is resolved.

Several large urban areas are located in the Rhine-Main area, such as the Frankfurt metropolitan area. More than 6 million people live in the area.

According to DB, the problem will be solved soon.
