Equality Minister Paulina Brandberg (L) believes that veiling very young children should be grounds for a report of concern.

    – My personal view is that every time a young child wears a veil, especially when it comes to really young children and especially when it is also parents who combine it with putting pressure on staff that the child is not allowed to play with boys on the break. Every time it happens, I think it should be grounds for reporting concern to the social service, so that the social service can really intervene, says Brandberg to SR Ekot’s Saturday interview.

Parts of L want to see a headscarf ban for children in preschool and school, but the proposal was voted down at the party’s last national meeting.
