Larian has added a lot of content to Baldur’s Gate 3 one last time with Patch 7. You will now find new scenes when you finish an evil run. However, some of the cutscenes are tough even for evil players.
Spoiler warning: This is about the different endings of Baldur’s Gate 3. If you want to discover them yourself, you shouldn’t read any further. Instead, you will find some cutscenes here that never made it into the game.
What are these new endings?
This is new in the game: YouTuber Ferzen has already discovered several of the new endings in the beta. You can find several videos on his YouTube channel, including one that shows the “generic” endings that are possible for each character.
You can only reach all of the endings if you subjugate the Elder Brain and take on its power to rule yourself. What happens next depends on your choices:
To underline the psychological horror, your character even lies down smiling between the corpses at the last opportunity. If you like total chaos, you can force people to slaughter each other in an enormous massacre. You can find the endings in the video here:
A new, evil ending for each character
In addition, each origin character has their own selection just for them. We don’t know all of them yet, but at least a few of the new endings have already appeared on YouTube – and they’re definitely not for the faint of heart.
Astarion, for example, proclaims himself the “Sun King” and rules the people as an absolute vampire. His vampire offspring live in the shadows of the city and although he rules, Astarion occasionally snacks on the citizens.
Karlach’s ending is shown by YouTuber Iggy and it is quite… disturbing. The kind Tiefling barbarian decides to take revenge on the city that cast her out. She opens the gates to hell and calls devils to tear the people apart. There you can see crying children while Karlach laughs, just before she rips her burning heart out of her chest.
The end of Dark Desire, which already has some questionable scenes in the game, is particularly violent. As a child of Bhaal, you naturally want to murder as much as possible – and that’s what you do, starting with the person you love.
You cold-bloodedly stab your romance during a kissing scene, then force all of your companions to throw themselves to their deaths, and then murder all of the residents of Baldur’s Gate by sprouting blades from them.
Fortunately, Patch 7 doesn’t just bring absolutely bad endings, but also finally official mod support and a number of bug fixes as well as minor improvements to the story and scripting. Something that “good” players will certainly like is that you now also have a new faction that helps you at the end: You can get a faction that helps you in the final battle of Baldur’s Gate 3 in Act 1 – When you become a god
