During A Talk with Robyn Michaud, the Conestoga College professor will be sharing her own family history in the context of cultural assimilation, as well as her personal journey “to reclaim her identity and culture.” Her presentation will also include a jingle dance demonstration.

A member of the Anishinaabe Kew, Bear Clan from the Sagamok Anishabek First Nation, Michaud grew up in TIllsonburg and attended Glendale high school. In addition to her professional duties, Michaud is pursuing a doctorate of education at Western University.

A Talk with Robyn Michaud is the fourth presentation in the speaker series, which is co-organized by the Oxford County Library and the Oxford County Archives. The topics discussed in this series focus on the history of Oxford County and its broader region. Previous sessions have focused on Black history in Oxford County, the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the 150th anniversary of the Town of Tillsonburg.
