According to information to TV4 Nyheterna, the Security Police, Säpo, carried out the operation in the Stockholm area on Wednesday.
One person was arrested in the crackdown and is now being held on suspicion of terrorist crimes that took place last month.
– It is true that a person is deprived of liberty and it concerns one of our areas of operation, says Gabriel Wernstedt at Säpo’s press office.
Säpo was later able to confirm TV4 Nyheterna’s information.
– One person was arrested on Wednesday 4 September in the Stockholm area. The person is reasonably suspected of terrorist offences. This case has no connection to any other case at the Security Police, says Gabriel Wernstedt.
The prosecutor: The terrorist crime was committed in Stockholm
Senior prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist at the National Security Unit leads the terror investigation and is very secretive.
– The crime took place in August 2024 in the Stockholm area. Otherwise, there is pre-trial confidentiality, he says.

He also cannot comment on how or exactly where the terrorist crime took place. However, Gabriel Wernstedt at Säpo says:
– We are at a very early stage in this investigation. We assess that there is no danger to the public connected to the case.
TV4 Nyheterna has unsuccessfully sought the terror suspect’s lawyer for a comment.
