Patricia Arquettes Daring 90s Animal Print Is Falls Unexpected Trend

After the leopard frenzy that won over many fans last year, a new animal print is now at the top of our fashion desires of the moment.

As we know, each season brings its share of unique trends. While some come back tirelessly to boost our wardrobe, others present themselves as real novelties, likely to compete with the old ones. This is the case of this animal print long perceived as difficult to wear.

The animal kingdom doesn’t seem to have said its last word this season. While leopard print continues its fashion breakthrough, here is a new pattern making its mark on the catwalks of established fashion houses. Regressive and a bit offbeat, it has the merit of adding an extra touch of style to each outfit and can be imagined on any item of clothing: jacket, skirt, pants, pumps, handbag, etc.

Cow print has its roots in the 1960s and 1970s, when it was seen as an idealization of country life and rural imagery. In the nineties, worn by avant-garde designers, it took on a rebrand eccentric and then covers the stage outfits of celebrities. The character of Alabama Whitman in the film True Romance (1993) wearing a cow print miniskirt, is a good example of the motif’s appearance in cinema.

However, its comeback in 2024 has been gradual, as it is part of the western style brought up to date by Pharrell Williams, during the Louis Vuitton fall-winter 2024-2025 men’s show. Since then, pieces derived from this universe have continued to flood in, even investing in brands like Mango, Zara and H&M. This year, the cow print is mainly available in a textured brown version, in an effort to imitate the animal’s natural coat as best as possible.

To wear it without making a mistake, opt for monochrome silhouettes that you can slip under a large jacket boosted with the print for example. Whether it’s a long-sleeved top combined with a skirt or a classic t-shirt mixed with fitted pants. Shades of brown, beige, camel or black are to be favored because they go very well with the pattern. You can also bet on a more tidy outfit, based on a white shirt that you just need to tuck into pants infused with the print. Add a blazer that matches your shirt, pumps to elevate the whole thing and here you are adorned with a daring but sophisticated look.

The more discreet can rely on accessories like shoes and belts to pimp their look with a little animal touch. Thus, halfway between bohemian aesthetic and retro inflections, cow print is a very good alternative to leopard print when you want to stand out while preserving a bold look. And you, do you think you’ll fall for it?
