Epic images you must see

Dune: Part Two opened in German cinemas at the end of February and exceeded all expectations. After Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi debut Dune had already convinced audiences three years ago, the sequel went one better. Now you can finally watch the acclaimed sequel for the first time with a subscription: on Sky’s streaming service WOW *.

There is no greater sci-fi epic: Dune 2 thrills as a thrilling sequel

Dune 2 currently has a rating of 8.1 out of 10 on Moviepilot and the sequel even has a rating of 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. In our half-year ranking of the best films of 2024, the desert planet return made it to the winner’s podium and even Steven Spielberg praised the extraordinary sci-fi experience effusively. Without a doubt: This is a film experience that no one should miss this year.

What is Dune 2 about? After the devastating coup in part 1, Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and his mother (Rebecca Ferguson) have just barely escaped the hostile Harkonnens. In the hostile desert of the planet Arrakis, he finds refuge with the warlike Fremen people and learns how to ride sandworms and much more from Stilgar (Javier Bardem) and Chani (Zendaya). Here, however, he must also decide whether he wants to take on the role of the prophesied chosen one in order to take revenge on his enemies.

Whether it’s thrilling desert raids, threatening black-and-white episodes in the Harkonnen Arena or incredible sandworm rides: Dune 2 lives up to the greatness of its sci-fi images. In addition to its impressive visual epic, the sequel also offers thrilling character development that gets the most out of the stars around Chalamet and Zendaya as well as the newcomers Florence Pugh (as Princess Irulan) and Austin Butler (as the cruel opponent Feyd-Rautha).

Sci-Fi longing for more: Dune 3 is fortunately already in the works

If you have seen Dune 2 on stream, you will surely be happy that the announced sequel Dune 3 is already on the way, even if part 3 2026 at the earliest will be released. As a consolation for sci-fi fans, the series Dune: Prophecy will also be released this year.

If you want to watch Denis Villeneuve’s first Dune film again, you can currently only do so by subscription on Joyn or by renting and buying from the usual streamers. Dune 2, on the other hand, is now available to all WOW subscribers.
