    The company Nets, which offers payment solutions for various credit and debit cards, is currently experiencing operational problems. The problems should appear in the entire Nordic market, including Sweden, writes the Danish news agency Ritzau.

    On the company’s website it is written that they are currently working on solving the problem.

    After ten days of intensive operations, Israel’s military has now withdrawn from the city of Jenin in the West Bank, media in the area report. The offensive against militant Palestinians is described as the IDF’s biggest ever in the occupied West Bank.

    According to the Palestinian Authority, over 20 Palestinians have been killed. The IDF’s description is that around 30 militiamen have been killed, including extremist Hamas leaders in Jenin and the head of Islamic Jihad in Tulkarm.

    The Gaza war has meant greatly increased levels of violence in the West Bank as well. Hundreds of people have been killed, and around 5,000 Palestinians have been arrested.

  • Former police employee is charged with producing false passports

    A former passport officer at the Police Authority in Norrköping is now charged with gross falsification of records in a case where seven fake passports have been produced.

    Two more people who are not police employees are charged with serious falsification of documents, firstly as accomplices and secondarily as aides in the production of the passports.

    – It is very serious if trust in Swedish passports is damaged. It is not at all good that a fake Swedish passport of the highest quality has been produced with the police’s own equipment and then used by an unknown person when entering Düsseldorf across the external EU border, says prosecutor Nicklas Englund at the Special Prosecutor’s Chamber in a press release.

    The former police employee is also charged with false certification and data breach.

  • Traffic accident in Örebro – one to hospital

    SOS was alerted to an accident between a car driver and cyclist in central Örebro on Friday morning, the police write on their website.

    One of the people involved has been taken to hospital, the extent of his injuries is unknown.

  • Smash and grab in Värnamo

    Police were alerted to an address in Värnamo due to a security guard noticing how a car drove straight into a gate of a company that sells electronics, the police write on their website.

    When the police arrived at the scene, the car, which turned out to be stolen, was still there but no suspect. It has now been seized for technical examination.

    What has been stolen are mobile phones.

    There are no arrests or suspects in the case.

  • Schoolchildren burned to death in Kenya

    At least 17 students have died in a fire in a dormitory at a school in central Kenya, police said. In addition, at least 13 students have received serious burns.

    Police fear the death toll will rise.

    What caused the fire at the boarding school in Nyeri, north of the capital Nairobi, is now being investigated.

    – We are investigating and taking the necessary measures, says police spokesperson Resila Onyango.

    School fires are common in Kenya’s many boarding schools. In 2017, 10 students died in one such in Nairobi.

  • Man found dead in Karlskrona – investigating murder

    During Thursday evening, a man was found dead in a residence in Karlskrona municipality. Police are on the scene and at the moment it is unclear what caused the death.

    – We have opened a preliminary investigation into murder in order to investigate the circumstances more closely, says police spokesperson Katarina Rusin.

    The site has been cordoned off for technical investigation.

    Relatives have been notified.

  • Suspected rape in Stockholm

    The police are investigating a suspected rape on Södermalm in central Stockholm during the night to Friday.

    The plaintiff is an 18-year-old girl whose relatives alerted the police shortly after 03:00.

    – We have found a place that we believe is the crime scene and are waiting for technicians, says Tomas Ibstedt, officer on duty at the police.

    The cordon is on a street between Skanstull and Medborgarplatsen.

    – There is no information to indicate that it is an assault, says Per Fahlström, press spokesperson for the police in the Stockholm region

    A 45-year-old man has been taken to hospital by ambulance after being stabbed on a cycle track in Ystad shortly after 2am.

    – He has stab wounds in the abdomen, says Pia Broman, station commander at the police.

    According to information to Aftonbladet, the man said he was stabbed during a robbery.

    He was awake and talking when the ambulance drove away. According to region Skåne, the man has life-threatening injuries.

    A man in his 40s has been arrested based on witness statements and is now suspected of attempted murder.

  • No to the fourth pass in five years

    The administrative court says no to a woman who applied for a new passport, the fourth in less than five years, Smålandsposten writes.

    The law states that normally no more than three can be issued in a five-year period. The specific reasons given by the woman, that she was going to Africa to get married, were not accepted by the police nor by the court.

    The rules on how many passports a person can be issued were tightened in 2016, following suspicions of abuse.

    Hunter Biden, son of US President Joe Biden, pleads guilty to tax fraud without reservation before a trial in Los Angeles.

    Thus, the case does not go to trial, which Biden wanted to avoid. However, he renounces all possibilities of a settlement with the prosecutors and he risks up to 15 years in prison and a fine of one million dollars.

    The trial concerns suspected tax crimes of 1.4 million dollars in the years 2016-2019.

    The sentence will be announced on December 16.

    Hunter Biden has previously been convicted of illegal gun possession for eleven days. He lied when he applied for a license for the weapon – which could land him a prison sentence. Biden had substance abuse problems when the crimes were committed.

  • Electric scooters are stopped

    Electric scooters are sold out even in Madrid. The Spanish capital prohibits, from October, the rental of the vehicles. They are considered a danger to pedestrians.

    “Our priority is the safety of the people of Madrid,” writes the mayor José Luis Martínez-Almeida Navasqüés on X and accuses the three companies that are currently allowed to rent electric scooters for serious safety deficiencies.

    Paris, Montréal and Melbourne are other cities that have already fully or partially banned electric scooters.

  • Explosion at property in Jönköping

    During Thursday evening, several alarms were received about a loud bang in the Liljeholm area in Jönköping.

    – It is a minor explosion that has taken place outdoors at a charcoal grill, says Camilla Larsson, police spokesperson for the east.

    There should not have been any people on site at the time of the explosion.

    The property has suffered minor damage to the facade.

  • Crusts recalled – may contain almonds

    Di Luca & Di Luca, the company behind the Zeta brand, is recalling the “Colussi Cantuccini chocolate” crusts with all best before dates after 01/15/2025. The reason is that the product may contain almonds, the company states in a press release.

    The packaging is marked “may contain traces of nuts”, but the crusts have been found to contain occasional larger pieces of almonds.

    According to the company, the recall of the product, which was sold by Ica, Citygross and Martin & Servera, is a precautionary measure.
