A taxi driver is sentenced to prison for three years and three months for raping a man with an intellectual and physical disability, the police write on their website.

The assault took place in southern Stockholm in connection with the vulnerable man being driven from his home to his work on a daily basis in April this year.

During the journey, the taxi driver is said to have made sexual invitations to the man before he stopped the picture and carried out the assault. The affected man was later discharged at the daily operations where he told what happened.

The verdict states that the victim was in a situation where he had difficulty defending himself against sexual abuse and was unable to express consent, which the taxi driver must have realized.

Despite his refusal, the taxi driver is sentenced to pay damages to the man of SEK 240,000 in addition to the prison sentence.
