Helldivers 2 shows the arrival of a new enemy faction, but according to Über-Earth this is only the result of a technician decaying on electronic devices.
Why do players think a new faction has arrived? In Helldivers 2, players were able to discover a new purple area on the galaxy map yesterday, which shows the course of the galactic war.
On the galaxy map you can see in which sectors and on which planets battles are currently taking place and start your missions there. Until recently, however, only the beetles were shown in yellow and robots in red. There was no area in purple and it has not yet been assigned to any faction.
Players now believe that the new third enemy faction is already here and is indicated by the new area in purple,

In the meantime, however, the area has disappeared from Helldivers 2 and a message from the Overworld has appeared in the game, denying the arrival of new enemies. The commanders say that this was just a system error caused by the decomposition of organic tissue – i.e. a decaying corpse.
The fault was a technician who got lost in the server farm. However, the damaged electronics have now been replaced and the deceased’s family had to pay for the damage caused.
It remains to be seen whether and when the Illuminati will actively intervene in the galactic war.

A symbol shows: The Illuminated are coming
What kind of third faction is expected? The players of Helldivers 2 have suspected for months that the upcoming third faction will be the Illuminates. The Illuminates are a highly developed extraterrestrial civilization that was already an enemy of the Super-Earth in Helldivers 1.
The players’ suspicions have now apparently been confirmed, because on the galactic map in the game, the new purple area had the same symbol next to the sector name as the Illuminated in Helldivers 1.
In recent months, there have been repeated hints about the new enemies as well as leaks that showed what the Illuminated will look like in Helldivers 2.
In addition to the Illuminated, the Cyborgs are also a possible fourth enemy faction. On the galaxy map, there is room for another faction besides the beetles, robots and Illuminated.
The Cyborgs were also an enemy faction in Helldivers 1 and consisted of former humans who augmented their bodies with cybernetic technology and started a rebellion against Super-Earth.
In Helldivers 2, some players suspected that the cyborgs were the masters of the robots and had created them.
