Karsten Warholm injured in the ME men’s fun game – season probably over: “Looks grim” | Sports in a nutshell

Karsten Warholm injured in the ME mens fun game

Karsten Warholm came to the Diamond League arena in Sweden’s competition outfit. In the end, he was unable to start his bravura trip to the 400-meter hurdles.

The Norwegian star of the 400-meter hurdles, the world record holder for the distance Karsten Warholm ran the 100 meter pole vault ME man on Wednesday night Armand Duplantis against.

It was about the long-awaited separate show event, which took place in Zurich on the eve of the actual competition day of the Diamond League. Duplantis was a tenth better when he clocked 10.37 and Warholm 10.47.

The racing brothers also had a special contribution in the race. So when Warholm lost, he had to compete in the Diamond League today in his bravura journey in the Swedish outfit. That’s how Warholm arrived at the arena.

In the end, however, Warholm did not start. Yesterday’s fast trip will be fatal for the plans for the rest of the season.

– After yesterday’s running race, I got sensations in my back thigh. I tried to warm up, but there was no hope of competing, Warholm commented to NRK.

According to Warholm, the hamstring did not affect his performance in the 100 meters yesterday, but after the finish line the sensations came.

Coach Leif Olav Alnes said he was disappointed with the situation.

However, Warholm does not regret the 100 meter show race.

– I would do the same again. It was a historic and great day, but of course you wouldn’t want it to end like this. However, I don’t think this is anything serious.

The coach was more sour in his comments. He said that now you just have to live with the situation.

The 400-meter hurdles would still be on the program at least at the Diamond League finals in Brussels on September 13-14. Warholm’s season is unlikely to continue.

– It looks bleak about that. I think yesterday’s race (100 meters) was the last race of my season.

The coach was also of the opinion that the eyes should now be turned to next season. Warholm was not worried about that at all.

On Thursday evening, in the 400 meter hurdles, Warholm and Brazil were to be seen by Alison Dos Santos shot between, but eventually the breast runner interrupted. The race was won by Jamaica Roshawn Clarke with a time of 47.49.

The USA that won Olympic gold in Paris Ray Benjamin has run the world’s top time of 46.46 this season. Dos Santos has run 46.63 and Warholm 46.70. In Paris, Warholm was silver and Dos Santos third.

Warholm’s ME is 45.94.

Benjamin’s record is 46.17 and Dos Santos’ 46.29. They are the second and third time in the world.
