ENRICO MACIAS. According to Le Parisien, an investigation was opened after a complaint filed in September by the singer for fraud.
Ten years. Enrico Macias has been trying to extricate himself from an alleged case of fraud for ten years. After a new complaint lodged by the singer last September, an investigation was opened of the head of concealment of fraud, October 12, 2021, reveals the newspaper The Parisian. The complaint targets Martial Benhamou, a former general practitioner removed from the Order of Physicians in 2019, and his son-in-law, Grégory Senac. The investigation, entrusted to the Brigade for the repression of astute delinquency (BRDA), according to the newspaper, will have to determine whether Enrico Macias was indeed swindled by the doctor.
It all started in 2011, when the artist, Gaston Ghrenassia (his real name), and one of his friends, would have invested the total sum of 800,000 euros in a project of aesthetic center called “Cosmetic Hospital World Resort”, which was to be specialized in changing physical appearance without resorting to cosmetic surgery. After several years without any sign of life, Martial Benhamou and Grégory Senac would have finally recognized their debt and repaid 116,200 euros, reports Le Parisien, before interrupting the transfers. According to Enrico Macias and his friend, they would never have been mentioned in the company’s articles of association, which the two defendants deny.
Enrico Macias is not his first scam affair. Since 2008, the singer has been in a standoff with the Icelandic bank Landsbanki. At the time, he was completely ruined. After borrowing 35 million euros in 2007, the singer lost 20 million euros after the bankruptcy of the Luxembourg branch of the famous bank, due to the financial crisis in Iceland the following year. Since then, he had had to mortgage his villa in Saint-Tropez to replenish his funds. In 2019, Enrico Macias was forced to repay 30 million euros to the liquidator of the bank Landsbanki Luxembourg.
