On Netflix and completely different than expected

What started as a rumor last year and became more concrete in March of this year is now a done deal: Twilight will be continued or re-released as a series. Just different than some fans may have imagined.

Vampire saga Twilight continues as a series reboot – but not in the way you think

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix announced an adaptation of the 2020 vampire companion novel to the main series, Midnight Sun * (Original title: Midnight Sun)was commissioned. It is a retelling of the first novel Twilight, but not from Bella’s perspective, but that of vampire crush Edward.

Lionsgate Television is producing the whole thing with Sinead Daly (Raised by Wolves) as producer, who will work with author Myer, among others. The project has been confirmed, but is still at the very beginning of the creative process, which can take a very long time in the case of animation. So it will probably be next year or even the year after that before the Twilight series is released.

Another fantasy reboot based on a template that was extremely popular in the 2000s is the upcoming Harry Potter series from HBO streamer Max. This will simply adapt the book series from the beginning and, if necessary, iron out some mistakes from the film series.
